[Friends] Getting the Word Out...

Hi!

We have some exciting news.our Designated Pastor Search Committee is made up
of Gary Ashby, Jaime Brown, Frank Carter, Sr., Jan Hoyt, and Sandy Will.  We
all thank you very much for taking on this very important task.

It is hard to believe we are getting ready to celebrate Christmas again.
Along with this year's celebration, we are sponsoring Cookies with Santa
again and Gerry Franklin is our coordinator this year.  We will all need to
step up to assist Gerry. She will have more details this Sunday.  Thanks
Gerry! 

The Giddings-Lovejoy Area 12 Meeting is scheduled for December 4th,
3:00pm-5:00pm, at First United Presbyterian Church.  this is in Wood River
IL.  Contact Gary Voellger if you are going.

What are you doing with that old cell phone?  It can help a soldier, you
know!  The youth of First United Presbyterian Church have organized a drive
to collect and turn in these old phones, in exchange for calling cards for
our troops.  Please bring your old phones to church and they will get to the
correct folks.  You can check it out at www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com. 

 Remember, if you have something to send out to the congregation and our
friends, please let me know and I'll be happy to spread the word.
