Hi Folks,
Just a few items today...
- Please remember that February is the month to renew our commitment to the
three Compassion International children we support in Peru. We are asking
all current contributing families to recommit on the attached form and new
committing families to complete the attached form. The form will also be
available on Sunday Morning. We thank you for your commitment and
contribution by the end of February.
- I stopped by this morning to visit Charlotte at Cedar Ridge in Lebanon.
Her daughter Darlene was there and so was a speech therapist. Charlotte
wasn't too responsive until Darlene told her she had a visitor from church
(she was probably thinking Jody, but she got me instead). She really perked
up and started chatting, quoting scripture, and smiling with the twinkle in
her eye that only Charlotte can do. She told me her goal is to get out of
Cedar Ridge within two weeks and to come to church and preach to us. I
challenged her to do it!
She isn't able to get sit up too long due to a sore on her spine from being
bedridden so long at St. Elizabeth's, but I think Elizabeth has seen her in
a chair more often. She was in bed when I was there, but she was going to
the hairdresser this afternoon. She does physical therapy that involves
standing and walking too.
I may go back early tomorrow morning, around 0830, so if anyone wants to tag
along, you are more than welcome. I won't be staying too long either. I
have to pick up some crooked sticks on the lawn (translation: golf, if the
weathers nice).
I enjoyed the visit and if anyone has a chance to stop by, I think she would
be very happy to see you. If you are driving from O'Fallon, turn off Route
50 where you see the sign for the golf course. Just past the golf course
entrance, on the left, you will see Perryman Street on the right. Turn
right and follow it to the end.
Cheers,
Rick
