Friends,
Please take a minute to peruse the email below from a friend of mine and
probably many of you as well.
Local Rotary member and O'Fallon resident, Steve Springer, told me about the
Fisher House/Wounded Warriors event that his band is supporting. The
flyers/media coverage will be out soon; however, I asked him to send me the
information immediately, so we can pass it through our web connections. My
hope is each one of you will send it to your respective email groups and
that we will pack the Katy Cavins Center!
Read On..
Cheers,
Rick Cobb

Hi there all you groovin' groupies!!
My band from YEARS ago is coming to town to play a benefit dance on Oct
13th. The music is grand, all fm the 60's and 70's, and we are VERY good!!
The proceeds go to a great cause, the Fisher House, which will be built at
Jefferson Barracks and the O'Fallon Rotary Club. Full bar and free snacks.
The write up below will provide you with more info.
What I really want is for YOU to come and bring ALL your FRIENDS!! Also,
have ALL YOUR FRIENDS BRING ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS!! If you have questions
about Fisher House or the dance, please call me.
If you have a place to post a flyer, please do so!! It is the attachment.
Reserved tickets are helpful. That will enable us to fully stock the bar!
Rotary Rocks for Fisher House!!
Benefit Dance for Our Wounded Warriors
Put on your dancin' shoes and come out to support our wounded warriors. The
O'Fallon Rotary is sponsoring a 60's-70'sdance at the Katy Cavins Center,
Oct
13th, 2007 from 7:30-1100 pm. Half of the proceeds will go to the Fisher
House
to build a facility at Jefferson Barracks which is now a 'polytrauma
center'.
That means some of our most severely wounded military personnel are brought
there for treatment, therapy and recovery. Often their families are not
financially able to stay in the area for any or all of the
treatment/recovery
period. Fischer House will provide them with a place to stay, free of
charge,
for as long as their loved one needs someone close to comfort them and speed
their recovery.
So let's talk about the dance! Music will be provided free of charge by the
"Nite Sounds '65" from Minneapolis, MN. The drummer for the band for the
last
44 years is an O'Fallon IL resident and Rotary member. The music is some of
the best from the 1960's and 70's. The band knows these tunes well, as they
have been playing them for all this time! It is a great band and all will
enjoy the music. If you are over 65 years old, you will remember the songs
and they'll 'take you back'. If you are 45-65, you can relive the 'good old
days when I was a kid'. If you are younger than 45, come and see what all
the fun and excitement was all about or maybe what your parents were really
up to!!!
The cost is only $15.00 per person. Tickets to be picked up at the door.
Please RESERVE YOUR TICKETS by calling Steve or Robin at 624-6983 or email
wupataranch @ charter.net.
