[Friends] Ash Wedneday Reminder

Today is Ash Wednesday, which means Easter, the Celebration of Christ Jesus'
Resurrection, is about 6 weeks away (yeah!).

 

Tonight we will be gathering at our sister congregation, Westminster, in

We will break bread together with or sisters and brothers from First United
and Westminster at 5:20 pm, catered by Nonna's (NCPC is bringing desserts).

Service will be at 6:30 pm.

 

Gospel Lesson: Matthew 6.1-6, 16-21

Meditation: "God is Personal, Not Private"

 

The Ash Wednesday service tonight kicks off the Season of Lent and our
Lenten Study series with the our sister churches which will be on
Wednesdays, Feb 13-Mar 12. The gatherings will be at First United in
Belleville (no worries, you will be getting a reminder and a map soon). The
discussions will be lead by the 4 pastors of the three congregations, and
Martha Grace Reese, the author of the book we will be using, will speak on
March 12.

 

Also, if anyone is interested in playing in the Wednesday Night Lenten
Worship Band, practice will be after worship tonight at First United
(7:45-9pm), and contact Pastor Greg (grstovell at mac.com) so he knows you are
coming.
