NOTES

I am "off station" from until Friday the 18th. Pray for me and my warmth as
I will be in St Paul, MN (it is right now 7 degrees, feels like -5).

January Potluck will be on the 20th after worship. The theme is soup/chili,
and anything that goes with it. Sign up or email Gerry
<mailto:secretaryncpc at aol.com> .

Pan-African Celebration of culture and spirituality will be held from 10 am
to 5 pm at United African Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Jan 19th. I and

(10:10-11:15 am, and 1:45-3 pm); Taste of Africa ($5, 11:30-1pm); African
Folklore and Storytelling (during lunch); Children's activities (throughout
the day); and a Fashion Show (1 - 1:30pm). Worship (if you want to know what
Easter feels like), will begin around 3:30 pm.

Ash Wednesday Service - Dessert Needed. The Ash Wednesday service at
Westminster PC on Feb 3rd will kick off our joint Presbyterian Lenten Study.
We (NCPC) have agreed to provide desserts for 100 people. Please sign up (or
email Gerry <mailto:secretaryncpc at aol.com> ) if you plan to provide a
dessert (or two).

15 books ready to be picked up by those who desire to participate (or a the
least, read along in a self study. . . and work with me on it).

Administrator Search - Unfortunately, we have begun the search for a new
administrator who will transition into Gerry's chair (but never replace
her). If you or any one you know is interested (15 hrs/wk), have them mail
or email their resume and cover letter to Gerry or me. Interviews will begin
soon so Gerry can help in the transition process.

Bible Studies - We will be finishing up this month the Book of Acts and 2nd
Samuel. Acts study group will be meeting Sunday, the 20th and 27 at 5pm,
Hart's Starbucks. 2nd Samuel on Wednesday the 9th, 23, and 30th at 7pm, also
at Hart's Starbucks. Start thinking about other books to study which will
happen after Lent (the Letter of James has already been one suggestion).

W.I.T.S. - Web Information & Technology Services in STL collects and
refurbishes or recycles computers and all peripherals. There is a $5 fee
for recylcing computer monitors, and a $10 feel for televisions. The org.
refurbishes computers, printers, laptops, etc., then gives them to low
income households and college students. Anything not in good condition or
out of date, is then properly recycled. They train people to work on these
computers as well. A flier with their information as well as a business
card was on the info table.

Those needed access to the base can ride with someone. We'll leave directly

Logan's Roadhouse will be a good place for the next 'Break Bread Together"
supper group. I am looking for someone pick up the ball on this one and give
us a date and time.

Theology on Tap - we will try out The Hut, or if anyone has another
suggestion and there is interest around it, we will go there. I am also
looking for someone pick up the ball on this one and give us a date and
time.

We have an offer for a group rate on Blues tickets. See Gerry or me for more
info.

Trampoline Dodge ball - I am looking for someone pick up the ball on this
one and give us a date and time
