Peace of Christ be with you all as we Live, Love, and Serve together to the
glory of God!

SCRIPTURE FOR SUNDAY

Psalm 27:1, 4-9; Matthew 4:12-23

Meditation: "The Deadliest Catch: The Jesus Story"

Watchword for the Week - "God is faithful; by him you were called into the
fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." -1 Corinthians 1:9
Thought for the Week - WHEN WE OPEN our lives to Jesus and his friends, he
changes us inwardly. He says, "Come with me, and I will reshape you,
recreate you, reform you." Jesus accepts us as we are but never leaves us as
we are. . The love that woos us, the love that draws us, also changes us.
But we don't sit back and do nothing. Although grace is opposed to earning,
grace is not opposed to effort. If we want to experience the change that
Jesus can bring, we need to cooperate with him. - Trevor Hudson and Stephen
D. Bryant, The Way of Transforming Discipleship

Administrator Search - Unfortunately, we have begun the search for a new
administrator who will transition into Gerry's chair (but never replace
her). If you or any one you know is interested (15 hrs/wk), have them mail
or email their resume and cover letter to Gerry or me. Interviews will begin
soon so Gerry can help in the transition process.

Bible Studies - We will be finishing up this month the Book of Acts and 2nd
Samuel. Acts study group will be meeting Sunday, the 27th at 5pm, Hart's
Starbucks. 2nd Samuel on Wednesday the 23 and 30th at 7pm, also at Hart's
Starbucks. Start thinking about other books to study which will happen after
Lent (the Letter of James has already been one suggestion). During Lent, the
Sunday group will be exploring the PC(USA) Study Catechism, while the
Wednesday night group will be the Lenten Study with Westminster and First
United in Belleville.

W.I.T.S. - Web Information & Technology Services in STL collects and
refurbishes or recycles computers and all peripherals. There is a $5 fee
for recylcing computer monitors, and a $10 feel for televisions. The org.
refurbishes computers, printers, laptops, etc., then gives them to low
income households and college students. Anything not in good condition or
out of date, is then properly recycled. They train people to work on these
computers as well. A flier with their information as well as a business
card was on the info table.

SERVICE

As you think about New Creation, its culture and its particular vision,
mission, and values, where do you see God calling us to serve as a
community, as a missionary society of the one Church of Jesus Christ?

Peace and blessings!
