Subject: Memorial Day 2008

 

 

 VFW Post 805 will be holding Memorial Day Observance on May 26, 2008
starting at 9 AM at the City O'Fallon Illinois Cemetery located at North
Clark Street and West Monroe Street O'Fallon Illinois .We encourage the
public to join us as we honor our all departed Veterans along with honoring
our current active duty military. This year's featured speaker is Mrs. Genia
Meyer who lost her son SPC Brandon Meyer Jan. 28 2008, six days before his
21st birthday during combat operations in Mosul Iraq. SPC Brandon Meyer was
assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat
Team, 4th Infantry Division. SPC Meyer grew up in St. Louis area prior to
moving to California. The 1-8 IN has been and continues to be supported by
VFW Post 805 in Keep Our Troops Rolling program. The VFW Post 805 Commander
would like to encourage all previous military veterans to wear their ribbon
or medals on Memorial Day and encourage active duty military to wear their
combat fatigues to show support of the men and women proudly serving in
Afghanistan and Iraq. Please join us on this solemn day as we honor all
departed Military Veterans and continuing to support US Forces throughout
