INTERIM SYNOD EXECUTIVE



With the retirement of the Rev. John Williams, the Synod is searching
for an Interim Synod Executive.  We are looking for someone who can assist in
discerning the Synod’s mission for these days as well as continuing its
ongoing work.  We would prefer someone who has had Interim training and/or
experience.  If you are interested or know someone who might be interest,

SYNOD RECEIVING AGENCY END OF YEAR INFORMATION



Our closing date for 2007 is JANUARY 7, 2008.  Your remittances must be
received in this office by Monday morning,
January 7th.   Plan for mail to take 3 or 4 weekdays.  If

BOARD OF PENSIONS 2008 DUES UPDATES SUMMARY



The following is a summary of the dues updates for 2008:



-                     
The dues percentage for Medical Plan benefits under
the Traditional Program will remain the same. 



-                     
Medical Plan dues percentages for seminary students
will remain the same.



-                     
The monthly medical dues for the Affiliated Benefits
Program will increase to $472 for a member, $684 for a member with children,
$970 for a member with a spouse, and $1,233 for a member with a family.



-                     
The renewal rates for the DMO and PPO dental programs
will remain the same.



-                     
The dues for Medicare Supplement participants will
remain the same.



-                     
The dues for Medicare Supplement participants in the
Affiliated Benefits Plan will remain the same in 2008.



-                     
Pension, Death, and Disability dues percentages will
remain the same for the Traditional Program.



-                     
Optional Death Plan dues rates will remain the same.

EMERGENCY $300,000 for TROPICAL STORM NOEL RELIEF



The National Committee on the Self-Development of People (SDOP) of the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) authorized its International Task Force to begin
providing immediate assistance to PC(USA) partners in the Dominican Republic
(DR).  The additional funds were allocated to the task force after the SDOP
received appeals from partners in the DR, which was pounded by Tropical Storm
Noel on November 2-3, 2007.  



 



 



MEXICO – TABASCO FLOODING



Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is continuing to work with the
National Presbyterian Church of Mexico (INPM) in response to severe flooding
that affected Tabasco, Mexico.  INPM has cancelled its
General Assembly meeting Orzaba,
 Veracruz to devote funds to the
flood response.  Currently, 24 Mexican churches are serving as shelters for
families that have been displaced by the floods.  PDA has provided $30,000 to
help the Mexican churches in this ministry of hospitality.  If you wish to
support these efforts, all contributions should be sent through your normal
giving channels and marked DR0000014.
