The month of August begins this week! Thus it is time to synchronize our
calendars. 

 

Below are the events and opportunities for the month of August. Feel free to
do a respond to all for additions or corrections. The final version will be
on the Web calendar as well as the paper version Gerry produces and is in
your Sunday bulletin.

 

Wed Aug 1 - Sat Aug 4    Pr. Christian doing the final move

 

Sat Aug 4    7:30 pm       Concert for Cancer at Edwardsville High School

Sun Aug 5    10:30 am      Worship & Holy Communion (scripture is from the
lectionary - go to www.textweek.com to pre-read, if you like).

                   @ 11:30 am  Pray & Plan Congregation Potluck (Build your
own taco salad. We will be discussion ways to improve/modify Cookies with
Santa and, as the AC discussed, any other items members of the community
would like to bring up for the good of the congregation, its future as we
strive to follow the Holy Spirit, and our efforts to fulfill our God-given
vision. We will try to have these Pray and Plan Potlucks at least
quarterly.)

 

Thu Aug 9    6-8 pm         Dinner with the Moderator of the General
Assembly, the Rev. Joan Grey. Although this is geared toward already
ordained elders, we have been given an open ticket and anyone interested is
welcome to join Pr. Christian (get with him to coordinate the drive to Ladue
Chapel).

 

Sat Aug 11   1 pm - ??      The NCPC Golf Tournament, August 11th at a time
after 1 pm, at Tamarack.  Rick Cobb will be the tournament director. Details
- This will be a combination Power Ball/Best Ball/Blind Nine Hole
Tournament.  

 

Friday Aug 17  7pm         Supper Club at the Japanese Steakhouse (tentative
date and time. . . please rsvp with Pr. Christian asap or provide an
alternative time and date).

 

Thur Aug 23  9:30 am - 4 pm    Presbytery Assembly at Cape Girardeau. All
are welcome.

 

Friday Aug 24 7pm          Theology on Tap (tentative date and time. . . if
you would like to hang out  at a non-smoky pub with Pr. Christian, rsvp asap
or provide an alternative time and date).

 

Wed Aug 29 1pm             Pastor Christian is being locked up my MDA down
in Belleville.

 

Fri Aug 31 - Sept 3         National Evangelism Conference of the PC(USA).
Christian will be participating in it. Why not attend with me the National
Presbyterian Evangelism Conference in Nashville, TN! Conference and hotel is
the Gaylord / Opryland resort. For more information, check out the website:
