[Members] FW: Lenten Planning Meeting

For any who are interested, we are working again on a joint
O'Fallon-Belleville Presbyterian church Lenten program for Wed evenings
which begin with dinner (5:30 pm), then at 6:30 pm studying, discussing, and
encouraging each other to practice what Martha Grace Reese writes about in
"Unbinding the Gospel". You will not want to miss it, especially the first
night when the author will be with us! 

 

There are activities for all ages, including the youth and young adults
meeting during the time to plan our joint Maundy Thursday Service.

 

So between now and then, we are looking for folks willing to help on the
planning (see below). Also, if you know already that you want to
participate, email or tell Gerry and/or I and register (this will be helpful
because Belleville First will be buying the books for us, and so we can also
have a good balance of church representation through the breakout discussion
groups).

I just left a message for Martha Grace Reese and she called me back within
10 minutes - she will be speaking here for our Lenten series on Wednesday,
February 13th!  I love it when things work out so easily.

A Lenten planning meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 6, at 11:30 am
here at First United to hear the plans of the pastors - Greg, Alex,
Christian, and Michelle.  Also, discussion will begin on details!
